Battolli Festival in Uscio

On Sunday 27 September 2026 the Sagra dei Battolli celebrates the signature dish of Uscio, a hill village inland from Genoa, a short distance from Recco and the Golfo Paradiso. Battolli are an old handmade pasta shape, similar to thick tagliatelle, made from a dough of wheat flour and chestnut flour. The name comes from the blow of the rolling pin, the "battuto", on the kneading trough during preparation. They are usually served with Genoese pesto or walnut sauce. Surrounded by woods, Uscio is known across Europe for the tower-clock making tradition of the Trebino family and is home to the Festival del Tempo; its trails link the coast to the peaks of the Apennines.
