The Strada dei Santuari is the easiest way to see the Cinque Terre from above: almost 10 km from the Colle del Telegrafo to Volastra, almost level (under 200 metres of ascent) and passable by vehicle all the way. The National Park lists it as an easy route of two hours forty.
It follows the road known as the "Road of the Sanctuaries" from its end at the Telegrafo, which you can reach by car, to Volastra above Manarola. It is also one of the Park's seven routes suitable for mountain bikes.
At the Telegrafo you can see a copy of the Lapis Terminalis, the sandstone stele carved with cup marks and crosses that Ubaldo Mazzini discovered there in 1923; the original is in the Museo Civico in La Spezia.
