SoggiornaTrail 586 runs along the hillside from Volastra to Case Pianca: 2.4 kilometres and barely 120 metres of ascent, about fifty minutes according to the National Park. It is an easy hiking trail, which the National Park points out for its views.
It starts in Volastra, the village above Manarola with the church of Nostra Signora della Salute, a fountain and a few services. It passes Porciana and reaches the scattered houses of Case Pianca.
Trail 587 goes through Case Pianca, heading down to Corniglia or up to the Cigoletta on the Alta Via. So with trail 586 and then 587 you can walk from Volastra to Corniglia without going down to the coast.
