The second stage of the Alta Via delle Cinque Terre runs from the Colle del Telegrafo, at 513 metres, to Cigoletta, at 611: almost 7 km along the ridge, with about 240 metres of ascent, which the National Park estimates at two hours forty.

From the Telegrafo you climb to the "Spaccato", between Monte Verrugoli and Monte Bramapane, near the remains of a large military fort; then a wide, almost level dirt track with the Cinque Terre below leads to the La Croce pass, where trail 501 drops to Riomaggiore. Along the Costa Galera you cross trail 502 to Manarola and pass a small natural cave; just beyond the saddle of Monte Capri lies a fallen menhir.

Before Cigoletta you cross trails 506 and 587, which descend to Manarola and Corniglia.
