SoggiornaTrail 587 climbs from Corniglia to the Cigoletta, on the Alta Via delle Cinque Terre: 2.4 kilometres and 500 metres of ascent, two hours twenty uphill according to the National Park. It is rated for experienced hikers: the average gradient is over 20 per cent.
Water and services are only at the start, in Corniglia: the fountain is near the church square. On the way up you pass Case Pianca, where trail 586 arrives from Volastra.
At the Cigoletta the path meets the Alta Via, trail 598, which runs along the ridge towards the Telegrafo one way and the Termine the other. Downhill, from the ridge to Corniglia, the Park estimates an hour and three quarters.
