The Via dell'Amore is the cliff-edge walk that links Riomaggiore and Manarola: just over a kilometre, which the National Park lists as an easy 25-minute route.
It was cut into the rock between 1926 and 1928, following the passages opened by the quarrymen who built the La Spezia-Genoa railway at the end of the 19th century. On the short Batternara stretch it runs right over the roof of the railway tunnel.
The entrance is in Riomaggiore, on the left as you leave the station, with booking in 15-minute slots; in high season the route is one-way, exiting at Manarola. Opening hours and tickets change with the season: you'll find them in our dedicated guide.
