Soggiorna
The Via dell'Amore is the path cut into the rock high above the sea between Riomaggiore and Manarola, the most famous stretch of the Cinque Terre. After the 2012 landslide it stayed closed for a long time; since August 2024 it has been open to everyone again, with precise rules to avoid crowding.
How it works today
- Entry is by booking only, choosing a time slot: entries are every quarter of an hour (on the hour, and at 15, 30 and 45 minutes past), for at most 100 people at a time.
- You need the Cinque Terre Card: the Via dell'Amore is included in both the Train Card and the Trekking Card, at no extra cost. Without a card you cannot enter.
- The route is one way: you enter at Riomaggiore, on the left as you leave the station, and exit at Manarola. Only authorised categories, such as residents, may walk it the other way.
- It takes about half an hour.
You book when you buy the card, online at card.parconazionale5terre.it or viadellamore.info, or at the Park Infopoints. If you bought the card choosing "book later", you will find a voucher code on the ticket to book afterwards.

It is the first stretch of the Sentiero Azzurro, the path linking the five villages. It runs high above the sea, beneath the cliffs: that very position makes it fragile, and it is the reason for the long closures of past years.
Concessions
- Residents of Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Monterosso: free entry, no booking, in both directions.
- Residents of the province of La Spezia: access regulated like the Park's other trails, free outside the regulated slot.
- Guests with the Riomaggiore Guest Card and guests of the Park's CETS accommodation: reduced fee and access in both directions.
Groups, up to 30 people, must book and pay in advance.
Tips
- Book before you arrive, especially at weekends: places in each slot are limited.
- Get to Riomaggiore by train, so you are already at the entrance; from Manarola, carry on from the station.
- Combine it with the rest of the day: the Train Card also includes the trains to the other villages and the paid sections of the Sentiero Azzurro.
