SoggiornaTrail 506 climbs from Manarola up to the Alta Via delle Cinque Terre at the Sella di Monte Marvede: 4 kilometres and over 600 metres of ascent, two hours forty uphill according to the National Park. Halfway up it passes through Volastra.
From the village the path climbs the valley on the right of the Groppo stream to Piè di Fiesse, where trails 506V and 502 branch off and there is a fountain. You walk a few metres on the provincial road towards Groppo, then climb to the left through olive groves, past the shrine of San Michele.
An easy stairway leads beyond Volastra, where there is another fountain. You cross the provincial road and climb on tarmac, along the last stretch of the Via dei Santuari. Then a narrow lane on the left skirts an olive grove and leads to the junction with trail 506V coming up from Groppo, towards the pass.
