The last stage of the Blue Trail links Vernazza and Monterosso: 3.7 km and about 220 metres of ascent, for experienced hikers, which the National Park estimates at two hours (two and a quarter the other way).
You start from Vernazza's small harbour and the square overlooked by the 14th-century church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia and the Doria castle. You climb through the village along the main street and take the path up a narrow alley, climbing steps until you are above the church and the houses.
You need the Cinque Terre Card to walk it. The section near Monterosso can be closed by order of the municipality: today's status is above.
