Zucca in Piazza 2026 in Rocchetta di Cengio

From 17 to 19 October 2026 Rocchetta di Cengio, a hamlet of Cengio in the Bormida Valley, hosts the 22nd edition of Zucca in Piazza, a festival devoted to the Rocchetta pumpkin and the other products of the valley. Saturday opens with the ritual of collecting, weighing, sealing and registering the pumpkins. On Sunday the Cairo Montenotte Earth Market arrives with the Buone Terre producers, together with tastings and showcooking for all ages. The Rocchetta pumpkin is a PAT traditional agri-food product listed in the De.Co. register of the Municipality of Cengio: it takes 180 days to ripen and can reach 35-50 kg. The festival is organised by the Slow Food Alta Valle Bormida group and the pumpkin growers.
