SoggiornaThe 593C staircase is the shortest way up from the SP 370 coast road to the Sanctuary of Madonna di Montenero: half a kilometre and about fifty metres of ascent, twenty minutes according to the National Park.
It leaves the road at kilometre 9.7 and climbs first up steps between the vineyards, then along a long level stretch, to the square in front of the sanctuary, where it meets trail 593. The steps are lit, and there is a small roadside shrine along the way.
From the sanctuary you can walk down to Riomaggiore along the Via Grande, or by the steep 593V variant.
