SoggiornaTrail 502 climbs from the Groppo valley, above Manarola, towards the watershed: 2.1 kilometres and over 520 metres of ascent, an hour and three quarters uphill according to the National Park, which rates it for experienced hikers.
It starts from provincial road 51 near the first hairpin towards Groppo, at Piè di Fiesse. After a few metres, at the junction with trail 506V, there is a fountain beside the shrine of the Madonna del Piaggio.
Leaving the 506V to the left, the path climbs the Zuncone ridge along the vineyards, crosses trail 532C and enters a mixed wood of chestnut and pine, up to the Via dei Santuari, trail 530. Higher up, trail 585 from Volastra joins it just below the Sella di Monte Galera, on the Alta Via.
