SoggiornaTrail 533 climbs from Riomaggiore, at Lupinau, up to the Via dei Santuari: 1.4 kilometres, an hour uphill according to the National Park.
You take it on the left off trail 593, the one climbing to the sanctuary of Montenero, and after a short stretch you cross the coast road. Beyond the road it continues comfortably along a dirt mule track, crosses a bridge over the Riomaggiore channel and climbs on a natural surface to the turn-off for Cacinagora, the ancient settlement from which the village grew.
The last stretch, still uphill, passes a few houses and two little bridges, and a short earth ramp brings you to trail 530, the Via dei Santuari.
