SoggiornaTrail 528 goes down from Campiglia to the pebble beach of Persico: 1.3 kilometres and 360 metres of height difference. The National Park allows 40 minutes going down and an hour and a half to climb back.
It starts from Piazza Santa Caterina, where the Alta Via also passes. After a short stretch of tarmac you turn left onto the historic Tramonti stairway, which descends through vineyards, vegetable plots and scattered houses.
Thanks to the microclimate of this coast you will see saffron, chinotto and prickly pears growing. At Il Chioso trail 528V branches off to Navone. Services are in Campiglia; at the bottom there is a water point at Persico beach.
