On Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026 the Urban downhill Sanremo brings a high-speed mountain bike race into La Pigna, Sanremo's old town. It began as a side event of the Giro d'Italia and has become a regular fixture for cyclists and fans from Liguria and beyond. Downhill is the discipline in which riders tackle steep, rough descents, on bikes that are heavier and sturdier than those of other disciplines. After registration, free practice and qualifying, the start is at the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa, and the riders race down through the narrow lanes to the finish line. The event is organised by the Sanremo Bike School.
