From 21 to 24 October 2026 the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo hosts the Premio Tenco, the Italian singer-songwriter festival dedicated to Luigi Tenco, the songwriter who died during the 1967 Sanremo Festival. Founded in 1974 by a group of enthusiasts led by Amilcare Rambaldi and organised by the Club Tenco, the event brings the most interesting songwriters of the international scene to the same stage as the Festival. The Premi Tenco go to world-class artists for their careers, while the Targhe Tenco, awarded by a jury of music journalists, honour albums and songs. This year the plaque for best album goes to Orbit Orbit by Caparezza, and the one for best dialect album to Amuri Luci by Carmen Consoli.
