The Route
From Andora, the stage ascends inland and reconnects to the coast at Cervo, one of the most characteristic villages of the western Liguria. Being part of a long-distance path designed to be completed over several days, the route is well connected to both the previous stage (from Albenga) and the next one (towards Imperia).
Before You Go
- Check the official Liguria Trail website (beactiveliguria.it) for the GPX navigation app and updates on the status of the sections.
- Bring hiking shoes, water, and an extra layer: with over 400 m of elevation gain uphill, it is not a simple coastal walk.
- If you are only doing this stage, check the local bus schedules for the return to Andora if you are not continuing to Imperia.
Getting there and when to go
Start and finish. Andora has its own railway station on the coastal line. At the other end, Cervo has no station of its own: the one indicated by the municipality is Diano, about four kilometres from the village, to be reached by bus or taxi — see how to get to Cervo and where to park.
Costs. The route is freely accessible and there is no ticket.
Best time. Spring and autumn. This is a stage that climbs inland with over 400 m of height gain: in summer it is worth setting off at dawn, and in winter you should allow for the few hours of daylight.
Accessibility. A hiking stage on natural ground with significant height gain: not passable with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
If it rains. The inland stretches become slippery and the stage loses the coastal views that define it: better to postpone, or to move to the seafront between Andora and Cervo.
