The Strada della Cava is a wide, steep two-way dirt road climbing from the Orco valley floor towards the Rocca Carpanea area: number 395 on the Finale Outdoor Region map, intermediate cross-country.

It leads straight to a quarry near the Rocca del Corno and crosses five trails dropping into the Feglino valley, including the Neanderthal. Ridden all the way, it is the main access to the Ötzi.

The average gradient is very steep: ideal for e-bikes, though it can still be pedalled uphill on a regular bike. Before you set off, check on the Finale Outdoor Region website that it is open: trails close for maintenance, races or bad weather.
